With Mobile Number Portability (MNP), users can switch telecom providers while keeping the same number. This makes it harder to determine a number’s original network, as someone with a Globe prefix might now be using Smart, or vice versa. This confusion can cause issues when subscribing to network-specific promos or making calls under the assumption that the number belongs to a particular provider.
